| What could summon the sun more than a woman wearing pearls and the perfect cocktail dress? On an unusually warm Sunday morning Susi decided it was high time I took some photographs of her so we plunged into her very big wardrobe and found a few amazing pieces that needed to be highlighted...and what a wonderful morning we had! Susi, an avid shoe collector and always one to shop with, is my go-to when I am in Hamburg and also someone who is always on the lookout for something new and exciting, be it food, the opera, or that perfect scarf that can take an outfit into new dizzying fashion heights. Thank you, Susi, for trusting me and my camera...I hope you approve... |

We had the most amazing blue sky, which, contrary to tradition here at Dashing George, made our shoot easy. Normally we are plagued with all weather forms that make shooting as hard as possible. We have had it all…gale force winds, rain, fog and yes, the drizzle that seems to land everywhere. So, what a surprise to finally have some luck.
Please say hello to Steven, our newest member of our Bombe du Mois club. He hails from the Swiss hills, as I do now, having been here over two years already (time does indeed fly). With the right approach (not taking a snapping camera too seriously) and the perfect leather jacket (which we all really want, let’s be honest), he kindly allowed us a bit of his time…and the results speak for themselves. In the end, the rustic landscape proved a worthy partner to his laid back style…just the right mix for this happy photographer.

She crossed my path in 2014, wearing the most divine polka dot blouse in downtown Cape Town and since then, I have wanted to see the designs she has now finished. When we meet on a hot summer’s day in the central business district in Cape Town, she is vivacious and totally humble about her work. There, on a wooden table, with our prying neighbour watching her in open fascination, she takes out her creations, explaining each to me in intricate detail…I am amazed at the delicate workmanship and her keen eye for making the unimaginable, real. Here are a few images from that day… Wardrobe :

For centuries, shoes have played prominent roles, showing status, wealth and art. Today, shoes are varied and we are spoilt for choice and on this note, I thought it would be interesting to do a new type of Bombe du Mois, where a few people, scattered across the globe, present their favourites…and the selection is indeed eclectic and varied!
