Time To Warm Up...

With their headquarters in the very fashionable city of Tokyo, one could say that Uniqlo, has its finger firm on the pulse of fashion…it is a company that has gone from strength to strength, since it was founded in 1984 by Tadashi Yanai. It is now the largest apparel retailer in Asia and this is by no means an easy feat! With a clear eye for basics and new innovations (as seen in their HEATTECH line, designed to keep you extra cosy in winter, by absorbing the moisture from your body and converting it into warmth), Uniqlo is a formidable competitor for H&M…just that they have a very clear, Asian sense of style.

Here the lines are clear and simple, and for minimalists, it is a great store to stock up on clever pieces that will make your look sleek and clean…a very Jil Sander approach (for she even joined forces with the company a while back, creating signature looks).

And as we are all not only focused on just what we wear, but what the companies actually do, it is great to find that Uniqlo also does a lot of charity work, with initiatives like the Grammen Uniqlo in Bangladesh, the Uniqlo Recovery Assistance Project and Clothes For Smiles project.

Our pick of the clothing crop has to be the following 6 pieces:

We love the flannel check long sleeve shirt dress at under 30 pounds as it ups the grunge look in your wardrobe, while keeping you warm
