The brainchild of Cheyne Morrisby, Lucky Bao is an eatery in the very laid back area of Hout Bay in Cape Town. The area, dotted with surfers carrying their boards, or cyclists in full training gear, is blessed with a wonderful bay (hence the name) and of course a main street dotted with various restaurants and coffee shops. What makes Lucky Bao stand out is the fact that the menu is small, Korean and very hip. |
With a very cool, dark and yet cozy atmosphere, Lucky Bao manages to bring the food into focus. Sadly, the staff are less attentive, explaining very little of the menu and a long wait meant we had to drink a bit more beer and wine than usual, but blessed with a gorgeous summer evening, this was not exactly torture.
