From the city that welcomed me to the US, I have a great picture of streetstyle star Matthew. I love the foliage and of course the statement necklace is beyond cool. As the trees and leaves start to change shape this side and autumn beginds to say hello, it is good to post something this green to remind me that it won't be cold for too long...only six months!

Good morning world. It is a beautiful spring morning, the sky is waking to the palest blue and it is going to be a wonderful day...in this spirit, I am posting a picture of Annalysse (we met while I was in San Francisco). I love the light in the photograph and those sunglasses are just heavenly....this could easily be in Vogue...thank you for the picture, Annalysse...hope you have an amazing time in Puerto Nuevo.
We are full into the festive swing, here at Dashing George HQ. Our Christmas music is on all day long...after all, this is the season to be jolly...and fitting our mood is the above look, brought to us by our lovely friend Rithika from San Francisco. We love, love, love the red and the amazing fur (faux, for all you animal lovers!)...and add to this the statement necklace and strappy sandals, we think she is definitely channeling a bit of Yves Saint Laurent, circa 1972...
While passing a hair salon, we spotted our next model at work. With this fresh haircut and an almost gothic approach to her outfit, we loved the contrast of hard jewelry combined with an almost cherubic face. This, teamed with a top (which she told us, was actually a dress until she cut the bottom half off!) and killer boots, was a wonderful find for our blog.
Want the same worn in look? Try this Massachusetts top from American Vintage available through mybestbrands.de at around 40 euros. http://tinyurl.com/q3tlvqg Wear it with these ‘Suzie’ metallic boots from Kurt Geiger, available through kurtgeiger.com at 120 pounds, http://tinyurl.com/pb42zhb and then accessorise your look with this great perspex bangle through asos.de at around 34 euros http://tinyurl.com/nn3v49r Outfit details (worn by model): Skirt is vintage, Belt by Brighton, Boots by Vince Camuto, Top by American Apparel (was a dress), Earrings by Forever 21 Picture credits: top from mybestbrands.de, boots from kurtgeiger.com and bangle from asos You could recognize the love of top notch designers from a mile away on our next model. We spotted her window-shopping in San Francisco and the tunic top caught our attention at first…then the bag, then the coat…and so on…it is a wonderful mix of expensive labels and high street fashion. The kind of look we, here at Dashing George HQ, can identify with. This is a look that combines both worlds and this fusion is both creative and eye-catching.
Why not try these on for size? The Ziggy paradessus double-breasted coat (162158) from Isabel Marant available through matches.com at 970 euros, http://tinyurl.com/psza7ww combine this with Aviator sunglasses from Dries van Noten, available through brownsfashion.com at 210 pounds http://tinyurl.com/q69wb4x and just to save your bank account, try this top found at zara.com for around 40 euros. http://tinyurl.com/nvlmftb Outfit details (worn by model): Coat by Burberry, Bag by Gucci, Glasses by Chanel, Shoes by Manolo, Top by Browns, Leggings by Woolworths, Ring by Paul Juwelier Picture credits: coat taken from matches.com, sunglasses from brownsfashion.com and tunic top taken from zara.com/de This mini dress was so snug and perfect that we couldn’t walk by and ignore it! She was working in a boutique when we spotted her and she did us a huge favour by taking her break earlier, to stand in front of our camera and we were only too happy to click away!
The outfit is a great mix of uptown chic and laid back fashion. Teaming an understated cardigan and clutch purse, it summed up the perfect Californian weather. And with a dazzling smile and mile long legs, who wouldn’t want to take a photo? On our trawl through the online sites, we found some inspiration for you…try this woven dress on sale at mango.com for under 45 euros! http://tinyurl.com/pdjlcty Or how about these gorgeous Chloé sandals found at farfetch.com on sale for 385 euros? http://tinyurl.com/lc9qwb9 And then you could perhaps try this awesome Susan Ibrahim clutch from stories.com, retailing at 55 euros… http://tinyurl.com/oqf5wpp Outfit details (worn by model): Jacket by Rubbish, Dress by Free People, Sandals by Dolce Vida, Bag by Hobo Picture credits: dress from mango.com, sandals from farfetch.com, purse from stories.com With this look, more laid back is not possible. We simply adore this west coast approach to casual wear. It does not get breezier than this. From the nautical nod through the blue stripes, to the Italian feel of shoes without socks, this is a very global look, even incorporating the baseball trend through the cap.
Feel like taking a holiday without leaving home, try these on for size: My Yard ‚Shaka‘ Tank Top available at 36 euros online at topman.com http://tinyurl.com/kpkzm87 Jeans shorts at h&m.com for around 25 euros http://www.hm.com/de/product/14299?article=14299-A Karl Lagerfeld baseball cap retailing at 49 euros through net-a-porter.com http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/380604 Outfit details (worn by model): Top by V Room, Shorts by American Apparel, Shoes by Homers, Belt and Hat are vintage, Rings by Alchemie Picture credits: Tank top photo from topman.com, shorts photo from hm.com/de and baseball cap photo from net-a-porter.com It was actually Jürgen who spotted our next model, while we were eating noodles in a café in San Francisco. I was so engrossed in the food that I missed her entrance to the mall, but Jürgen was so taken by her outfit, that he insisted I track her down in the food court…which of course, I did…and it was well worth the effort of looking like a crazy tourist! The outfit was slamming! Cute romper, or dungarees as we say, this side of the pond, teamed up with the most gorgeous Fendi sunglasses, a statement necklace and clashing print blouse…a mix of mono patterns to die for…
Want a playful look as well? Then try this romper by Marc by Marc Jacobs through shopbop.com on sale at under 47 dollars! Then, clash prints by wearing this silk ‘Grace’ blouse with butterfly print from Equipment, available at around 358 euros through asos.de and then dazzle the crowds with a pair of ‘Poetry’ sunglasses (ref: 145482) by Thierry Lasry available through matches.com at 336 euros. ..and here are a few tips for wearing your romper as well: 1.Buy one in a good, sturdy fabric…and let it be tailored and not too tight. 2.Think big earrings or a necklace but not both! You want them to look at the romper, after all… 3.Show off your legs with high heels and not trainers…trainers will make you look short and frumpy! 4.Last but not least, ditch the bag and take a small purse or if you are on the run, a straw shopper… Outfit details (worn by model): Blouse bought in LA, Romper by Topshop, Shoes by Toms, Sunglasses by Fendi Picture credits: romper picture taken from shopbop.com, blouse picture taken from asos.de & sunglasses picture taken from matches.com When in the US of A, there are a few basic things one should do…one being: pay a visit to Marc Jacobs. The designer has been making waves both sides of the pond and when we visited his store in San Francisco, we could not help but notice this all black ensemble…it was just the right mix of high end glamour and street that makes us want more.
Get the tough biker look by maxing out your credit card on the leather biker jacket by Balenciaga for 1535 pounds available through browns.com and then go easy on your bank account with a pair of extra slim black jeans (REF. 13033611-SARA) from Mango.com at under 40 euros. The jewel in your crown would have to be this great Aztec-inspired necklace from Topshop.com, selling at 29 euros. Outfit details (worn by model): all clothing Marc Jacobs Picture credits: biker jacket taken from browns.com, black jeans taken from mango.com, necklace taken from topshop.com Since the feedback has been so wonderful regarding our last post, we decided to create a sequel, as our archives has more photos of our last model. It was well worth interrupting her as she ate her deli sandwich and you can see by the following photos, she was camera-ready and poised for our attention within no time! Here at Dashing George HQ, nothing gets our pulses racing faster than jet-set glamour with fierce attention to details like the statement accessories and monochrome blouse. Thank you for all the comments and 'likes' via Facebook...we are glad that the post has been so well received! |
