Christian Dior once said, 'Real elegance is everywhere, especially in the things that don't show'. And this quote is so true, when we look at simple outfits, that at first glance appear simple. She is no stranger to this blog and her fashion savvy always makes me smile...and when I come across a photo this fierce, then I have to share it with you. I love the heels, the simple outfit, but above all this, the attitude that is, typically, Romy.

Okay, so before the 'Bombe du Mois' post, I had to share this gorgeous image of Vika, almost a regular on my blog...with THAT necklace, she was meaning serious business, not to mention the over-dimensional earrings. It definitely feels like a bit of a Prada moment, coupled with tribal influences and a cool attitude that should see us through spring into white-hot summer.
Just the right image for this snow-filled day I am facing at the moment....the wonderful fashion world of Laduma Ngxokolo. I am always filled with such pride when I see homespun craft represented on such a global scale...and when the fashion is both innovative and bold, then I am even more excited. You can see more wonderful fashion knits at this address: www.maxhosa.co.za or visit the Facebook site: www.facebook.com/LadumaNgxokolo
What could be more uplifting than a photograph capturing a mood so effortlessly like the one above? I love everything about it...the baby grand, the amazing print dress, the shoulders and the Ferragamo shoes...it is a candy pink dream come to life and thank goodness Vika pared the accessories down, making the dress speak on its own...a wonderful image to start the weekend off and inspire you all...I hope.
My cousin Romy has this awesome dog, Frankie, who has about the same fashion bravado as her owner...hence, when I saw this to-die-for bow-tie, I had to share it with all of you...canine fashion, long the tired joke of America's Funniest Home Videos, is making a comeback and I am glad to be able to post this!
With the world spinning towards more and more craziness, where we have protests, people hurting each other in the name of religion or fanaticism, we are in desperate need of moments where our faith can be restored...and this above image of my good friend, Tammy, is testament to the happiness you can feel when something reaches fruition...so, Tammy, all the best for the upcoming events and keep on being the amazing person you are!
We are already tuning into our South African mindset as we will be off to the fairest city in the Cape in just under 2 weeks, but until then, I just had to post this great outfit by Dainty Frocks…anything with tulle and we are there…just think of that great Carrie outfit from Sex and the City! If you like this look then you can visit their Facebook page or you can also try http:// dainty-frocks.myshopify.com
We love the clear African feel, with a modern twist…after all, what is more contemporary than tribal print paired with great tailoring? Picture Credit: sourced from FB Meet Vika from Johannesburg...here revealing her newest outfit for all of you to see. We thought, what would brighten up your Sunday and blast a bit of positive fashion energy into the start of your new week? This wonderful dress is designed by Nqobile Tshalata and you can find her designs under the fashion label, Dainty Frocks...after all, which woman would not want something ethnic without the usual tired, typical african motifs? Be like Vika and add some sex appeal with some great heels and..this awesome pair is by Jimmy Choo, ladies...and don£t get us even started on the perfectly matched lips and nails! Hat's off, Vika!
When a girl hits Amsterdam with the speed of a bullet train, then of course the city is in for a ride. And so, our once-featured ‘Bombe du Mois’ was in Amsterdam (on work, sadly, and not purely for pleasure) and she decided to share her shopping that she did in the bustling metropolis… We start with the t-shirt that will define the wardrobe: from Ichi, in light grey (here pictured in soft pink), it is the perfect partner to her skinny black jeans and heels. And one to spot good branding, Romy found the enviable pair of super skinny blue jeans, from hot denim label, Denham And I just HAD to send her off to one of my favourite stops while shopping, COS, the luxury sister company to H&M. There, she found the basic that will solve all her problems when going from business to casual, with this great jersey jacket (which she plans to team up with killer heels and her Denham jeans. And, since Amsterdam is so creative, then you must not forget some accessoires: like this wooden deco objet , book darts, ring, bar of soap (we love the packaging) and notebook…and to show that she was not only thinking of herself, she also picked up this great sweater from Denham for her boyfriend! I think we can all safely agree that Romy is indeed working a bit of Victoria Beckham mojo in her new look and we applaude the nod to one of our own style icons! Ray-Ban defined an era for easy-going cool and our next model showcases his pair with a real laid back swing. What could be more current than these perfectly polished pilot sunglasses? Worn by almost every celebrity, it is classic. We need only look at the current Gucci campaign featuring James Franco for more inspiration! We love the pairing of an almost British cardigan with the trendy checked shirt (very scandanavian)…and to keep the ensemble street-worthy, he teams this with a great pair of slim chinos and classic Converse sneakers. Overall, a very urban look, with great basics.
