Turning up the artistic side this month, we have work from the very talented Omid, who with his label, Artificium, is creating a name indeed for himself…so, click on the ‘Bombe du Mois’ button above to see not only glorious images of Omid, but also of his work, a first for me, here at Dashing George…
What could be more uplifting than a photograph capturing a mood so effortlessly like the one above? I love everything about it...the baby grand, the amazing print dress, the shoulders and the Ferragamo shoes...it is a candy pink dream come to life and thank goodness Vika pared the accessories down, making the dress speak on its own...a wonderful image to start the weekend off and inspire you all...I hope.
With such a radiant face we start the week...and since I know I am not the only one to hate Mondays, I thought why not pimp it a bit and let the week start with someone happy from my favourite city in SA, Cape Town? Here, the streets are lined with happy people just waiting to be snapped up by a blogger like myself. I love the summer mix of off-the-shoulder and wide-legged trousers...and pair that with a maritime themed bag and I am ready to set sail...
She was one of the first faces I spotted in Cape Town on my first tour through the city as a blogger...and what a face! Since then Dashing George has grown and grown and I am so grateful to have met so many wonderful people, like Lauren. Wearing a statement necklace and a whimsical kimono, she has the perfect look for the beach. Now, she captures the mood that I have for the weekend and I hope you are all ready to enjoy two days of rest after the long week...
Hard at work today...indeed, with the very clear autumn weather at play, it is a pleasure to be working with such gorgeous images. Soon our Bombe du Mois for October will be online...and until then, watch this space.
Good morning world...with the start of the week in my head, I have to post something to get it all going on a good note, so I have to share my favourite song at the moment...'Alaska' by Maggie Rogers...and what a wonderful way to start off this day...so, enjoy. I have added the lyric video so you can also see the remarkable text and the Pharrell Williams listen of her song...have a good week and stay fashionable!
What could be more awesome than the colour blue? It is the shade we choose to signify freedom, our days at the beach and for many, it is the colour used when painting skies on to canvas...so, imagine my luck when I spotted this wonderful face in Cape Town, taking blue to new levels...bold and daring, with understated basics taking front row in this look...love it!
We are all looking back...looking back to the good old days when we did not have the stress of twitter feeds and Facebook posts...a time when we could focus on art, good literature and spending quality time with those we love. Now, as the world veers onwards into uncertain times (thanks Donald), we are even more interested in the past...and now, pop culture springs to all fashionista minds and in this vein, I have the following picture. When a photograph reaches iconic status, then I have to post it. I love the 80's touch with the torn stockings and of course the nod to Madonna with the lace body. It is a mix, paired with some serious heels that is not only striking but very en vogue.
