Monday morning and we are getting back into our routine here at Dashing George HQ, after a weekend of perfect weather in Switzerland. We are packing suitcases and I am definitely including my Nikes as I expect to walk a lot during the next few days. It is our first trip to Hungary and we are silently hoping that Budapest lives up to it's reputation... Till then, be good and be happy...

There’s a rumour that these could be the last few days of summer, and I hope this is not the case….I still want to feel the sun on my feet and of course, enjoy the evenings without a jacket…and I thought why not do a sunglasses special? So, here is a look from the Paris streets…she is German, but clearly doing what the French do best: highlighting a key piece and toning down the rest. That is why these sunglasses pop out when combined with fashionable black. Our mission is as follows…find sunglasses to make summer more fun! Here are a few we discovered: chain temple shades in tortoise-shell from & Other Stories, selling at 12 pounds. Or how about a pair of glitter cat-eye sunglasses from Zara, selling at 12,95 euros? Or be a diva with these gorgeous black ones by Roberta Cavalli, on sale at nordstromrack.com, at 119.97 dollars. Picture credits: images taken from stories.com, zara.com & nordstromrack.com
We start the week off on a good note with a teaser for our upcoming Bombe du Mois. This time we are breaking new ground with a collaboration. Our little streetstyle blog has, it seems, finally arrived!
We all love a good sneaker…or trainer or sport shoe. Wherever you are living, this footwear has become the go-to for any type of outfit. Society ladies can now be seen ditching their kitten heels for a pair of Alexander McQueen trainers or a pair of fashionable and super chic Pierre Hardy sneakers. Where once the world frowned on sneakers as a low and basic piece of footgear, worn ONLY to the gym, the fashion gurus have taken the humble shoe and forced it into runway collections, making it so desirable that we are willing to pay astronomical amounts to get our hands on a season must-have. Our next fashion look is once again from the perennially cool streets of Paris and his Pierre Hardy shoes stand magnificently out from the crowd as he pairs it with a super skinny jacket and simple denim. The beard is wonderful and the tote is minimal, allowing the shoes to shine. Our top three Pierre Hardy sneakers are as follows: Leo with fur 850 euros, with eye 560 euros and geometric print 365 euros. Picture credit: all sneakers taken from farfetch.com
We are back from Helsinki and what a wonderful city it is! More cool streetstyles and local flavour will follow in due course, but we are still processing our Paris file, so here is another hot look for those who are running around the city! We love the ribbed leather jacket and of course, the porcelain skin is also a hit in our books. Add to this the perfect city bag (not too big that it becomes heavy, but also not a clutch) and we are sitting up and paying attention. See…sporty can be fashionable!
We are breaking new ground here at Dashing George...we are taking our little camera and fashion gusto to the north...our first time in Helsinki! We hope this city has much to offer and will of course report back to all of you as soon as we are back on home turf. So, I am going to ignore the rain pouring outside my window and get myself off to the airport, after all as they say in German, 'Ich bin nicht aus Zucker', which translates as 'I am not made of sugar'! So I won't melt. Till then, stay cool and fashionable...

It was a wonderful, and rather quick shoot in Hamburg with Susanne, but the results speak for themselves! We are literally gushing at this achievement...
You are all going to think I am insane for posting a winter coat when all of Europe is in a sweltering heat, BUT for my followers in the south, this will warm their winter-frosted hearts. This is another look spotted on the streets of Paris, and I thought we could all do with a bit of Fendi. We love the mix of taupe, light grey and tan. She keeps her accessories simple and understated, allowing this gorgeous coat to do all the talking for her. Thumbs up for this Swedish model and her amazing outfit!
Today, our report is not about the fashion world but, about a new record reached on our website. We are so proud to announce that we have reached and surpassed our 70 'like' mark for a Bombe du Mois post! In true typical style, it rained the morning of our shoot, but Hamburg decided to show its sunnier side when we set up camp to finalise the photos.
Thank you to all who have visited us and who have enjoyed the editorial. The biggest thank you, of course, goes to Susanne, who opened her home and closet to make these images spring to life... |
