We are back on track and Dresden lived up to its name as the ‘Florence of the Elbe’. While an architectural highlight, when you consider most of the old city was rebuilt after the war, the fashion left us a bit perplexed. Jürgen joked that I could do a few ‘bad taste photos’ for the blog, but I decided that only good images land on this website, so I thought I would save you from that! Here, the men wore three quarter trousers and socks with sandals…and we aren’t referring to the hipster Birkenstock and socks look that still continues to find its way into most collections worldwide. The women were also somehow pattern-crazy, but not in the good sense. The locals chose simple looks and jeans proved a firm staple here. On another note, we did manage to find two culinary highlights during our stay. Villandry, a tucked away spot where we were treated to salmon and a most exquisite swordfish. On Saturday night we tried Genuss Atelier, also tucked away, this time with arched beams in a basement. The food was astounding, where creative salads, guinea fowl, stuffed veal with spinach and even gin distilled in Dresden proved sure winners. Thank you to the wonderful staff that spoilt us at both locations with excellent, laid back service. Picture Infos: above two: Villandry

It is so hot in Zurich and we are escaping the over thirty degrees and heading to Dresden to see what this city along the Elbe has to offer...hopefully a bit more than world-renowned porcelain and amazing post-war architecture...so, have a wonderful weekend and keep yourselves fashionable and happy!
Picture credit: Dresden image taken from pstours.cz The boys are definitely back in town and with our next Paris look, and we are in love with the understatement. The structured jacket is wonderful when paired with the classic t-shirt and of course, low-hanging trousers just make the effect even more relaxed. We love the bangle by the way and don’t even get us started on that great hair! For some great staples, head on to Surface To Air, where you will find some edgy, yet good quality products to boost your wardrobe. Our hit list includes: this denim Bob shirt on sale at 80 euros, this pop reversible bomber on sale at 195 euros and this fluo jumper on sale at 90 euros. A new week and a new extra for you...we are prepping our Bombe du Mois and the editorial, shot in Hamburg, was a pleasure indeed! Till then, we will be editing and working on the layout for you...so, have a wonderful start to the week and enjoy the summer, if you are in the north and wrap up if you are in the south!
The sweater look has moved into my closet and I think it is there to stay. Let’s face it, nothing compares to the wonderful comfort you feel when you slip out of those tight jeans and pull on your track pants, or jogging trousers as some like to say. If Karl Lagerfeld went from loathing these items of clothing to sending them down his Chanel runway, then we are also ready and definitely willing to welcome these pieces into our lives…after all, you can combine these sweat pieces as you like. Take our next Paris look…she mixes patterns (which is always a favourite here at Dashing George HQ) and manages to integrate old classics like Adidas sneakers into this cool look. We love the swept back hair and a smile on the dial just makes our fashion hearts leap! For great sweaters, we turn to Hamburg label, Closed. We love the wonderful new interpretations with careful tailoring and of course, new fabrics that are a dream to wear. We love the Moss Crepe sweater, on sale at 189 euros. A melange print sweater is always a super basic piece and we love this ‘Nice’ one, on sale at 75 euros. Finally something from the new collection, try this light melange grey ‘incomplete’ sweater, priced at 99 euros. Picture credits: all sweaters taken from closed.com
The weather at the moment has a mind of its own. One would think it was April and not July. We go from soaring temperatures to frostbite and this is supposed to be summer…but we hold on to our hope that it will be a good season…and if you are on the go, then you need a great leather jacket. Like our next Paris face who maxes this look with gorgeous hair, a minimalistic blouse and loose pants. We love the all black. It is perennial in France and we love how black can be updated and made fresh. If you are on the lookout for a great leather jacket then try Surface to Air for a good one. We love the Mercury cropped number, on sale at 360 euros… Picture credit: leather jacket taken from surfacetoair.com
Back on track finally and we are still going through our Paris images. This next face was so cherub-like that I had to stop and photograph her for the blog. We love the sweater…it is the perfect partner for any jeans outfit and it is a wonderful example of what we love about the Parisians: everything looks effortless. This is the reason why their style has been copied across the globe and why they are the source of much envy! For this look, try Helmut Lang, who always has the perfect laid back elegance and rock chic to keep your look up to date and street savvy. Try this Sonar wool sleeveless dress, on sale at 116 dollars. For perfect daywear try this Swift long sleeveless shirt on sale at 138 dollars. Finally bring some attitude to your wardrobe with this Talc leather mini, selling at 248 dollars. Picture credits: all apparel taken from helmutlang.com
Okay, so I should have sent an update and also I was in a mad rush when I left Zurich...this happens when you are constantly changing wallets and cards end up going missing! Okay, so after the chaos, Hamburg was blisteringly hot but I managed to get quite a lot done : 3 new Bombe du Mois faces and two great streetstylers...so now I am back at HQ and promise to say adieu in advance next time...but before I sign off, a big thank you to my hostess, Susanne, for opening her home to me during my stay and who also took the photograph above at Barca while we sipped our sundowners...
