This week it snowed, we had a wind storm and then the sun finally came out this morning...I think even the sheep outside my window are confused with this mix of temperatures...so, I am packing a suitcase and saying goodbye to this weather and tomorrow we are heading south...to the home of Dali and if this little town was good enough for the likes of Picasso, then I think we will be just fine. Till then, stay as fashionable as ever, warmly dressed (for my friends even further south) and enjoy the season change...

We take our title from the infamous song by the Neptunes and how fitting it is for this particular post. She was a face of the month and this time we have another amazing picture of her...this time from LA...yes, say hello to Laura, just landed back in the port city of Hamburg and probably dealing with jetlag and switching from her southern californian drawl to northern German...thank you for the image...we love your bangs! (as the Americans would say) Hamburg is much better with you back in it.
It is snowing outside my window. It is April and I have snowflakes falling from above. This is not a joke. On the one side, I am still a fan of falling snow, but on the other side, I feel it is supposed to be spring already. This cannot be happening...but in true April style, the weather has a mind of its own, so I will not complain about it...instead, I decided to tun the negative into a positive (or as we say here at Dashing George HQ, 'turn the beat around') and post this uplifting picture of a daughter of a really good friend of mine in Cape Town. Since it is the start of the week, why not just look at this photo for encouragement...aren't we all wishing we were that young again? And THAT skirt is heavenly...thumbs up, Stacy!
A sad moment indeed for me...such an icon, such an amazing artist is no longer with us. So many wonderful moments have been made even more spectacular through songs like 'When Doves Cry', 'Cream' and 'Chelsea Rodgers' (a song that manages to lift my spirits even when I am against dancing!). Today is a day where we appreciate the genius behind the music, the person behind the persona and the man behind those amazing eyes...
Stop by at the Heitsch Gallery in Munich (Reichenbachstrasse 14) and you will not only love the floor space and installations, but also the amazing fashion sense…take these gorgeous Attilio Giusti Leombruni Pointy Toe Ballet flats we spotted and just HAD to share with you all…you can see the full AGL collection online, where actress Dakota Fanning is headlining the Spring 2016 collection…
Effortlessness is something many struggle with. It is the personality that often stands in the way of being just what you are and expressing this through your fashion. While in Munich I met this next model who had a wonderful face and laidback cool that many fashionistas strive for, but along the way get caught up in either having to wear the correct labels or not dressing for their body type. Our model manages to be approachable and cool...two things not easily combined in one sentence!
Two years ago I met Lenna, through a good friend of mine, Anne. We met up and I took her streetstyle picture and then, as it is in the world, we lost contact. She is in Hamburg, as all you know, I am now in Switzerland. So, you will totally understand why I was so surprised to see her post a song of hers online....here at Dashing George, it is always a wonderful thing when one of our posted personalities shows a creative side we were not aware of...and the song is amazing! It is called 'What If'.
Direct access to the song is easy...just a click away: https://soundcloud.com/lennaha/what-if Picture credit: artist's own Is there a better way to signal the start of the warm season than by posting a wonderful photograph of someone revelling in the sun and spirit of the season we all love? No. Today feels like the official start of spring. I even had a butterfly land on my hat this afternoon (I am not kidding!). Such is the wonder of nature and in this spirit, I just had to share this image of our friend Daphne, posing for a campaign for Mum’s Handmade. You can see the full collection online at www.mumshandmade.com where the clothing covers knitwear, crochet and much more, taking you from beach to restaurant, to nightclub in one smooth leap.
Picture Credit: Chris Madisson Aat When it comes to laid back cool, there is one stop to make in Munich, namely Simon Ese. Here, the clothing maintains a fine balance between streetstyle effortlessness and sustainability. The company uses leftover fabric in Mexico to help save our limited natural resources. Sounds good, right? Add to this the fact that proceeds from the sale of the (now famous) artist shirt design go towards social art projects…now there is fashion with a forward-thinking edge. Here, at Dashing George HQ, eco fashion that still manages to look edgy is a must for any wardrobe! For more about the company, visit them online at www.simonese.de or you can pop into their Munich store at 30 Reichenbachstr.
Good morning world. It is a beautiful spring morning, the sky is waking to the palest blue and it is going to be a wonderful day...in this spirit, I am posting a picture of Annalysse (we met while I was in San Francisco). I love the light in the photograph and those sunglasses are just heavenly....this could easily be in Vogue...thank you for the picture, Annalysse...hope you have an amazing time in Puerto Nuevo.
